Building Blocks

This piece was written first from bottom to top, but you may read it however you like. I wrote this as a reminder to myself that healing is not linear. There have been many times where I begin again and again. I have to (re)remember things I forgot and (re)create myself and my ideas about life. Life is a lot like Jenga, the game where each block you take represents every choice you make and can impact your whole foundation which represents your sense of self and world. Even if you carefully plan out all your moves, everything can still come crashing down. Yet, to play the game, you must just start over. This piece's advice to you is not just to rebuild, but rather, to recreate. Do not only try again but make your own rules. I once took an entire Jenga set of blocks and wrote on each one with questions and choices. I did this to engage people and build connections. Why? Well, one of my rules to life is to help others find and fulfill their own needs which I like to do through creating conversations. We are all looking for home, for a sense of balance and belonging, for harmony and peace. When things fall apart, what do you do?
